Process for adding after the 10th day of the semester

Students have until the 10th day of class to add with professor approval. After this, students are only able to add if there was an extraordinary circumstance preventing them from registering prior to the deadline.

Step 1: Meet with your professor

  1. Speak with your professor to request permission to join their class due to your extraordinary circumstance. Approving late adds after established deadlines is up to the professor's discretion.
  1. During this meeting, you will need to discuss a plan that outlines how you will catch up and succeed in the course.

Step 2: Submit an add/drop form

  1. This Docusign form is found on the Registrar’s Website.
  1. You will need to include your professor, your academic advisor, and Assistant Dean Dr. Jennifer Clark (jennifer.clark6@montana.edu).
  1. The form requires you to include a professional letter addressing your extraordinary circumstances and the success plan you made with your professor. If this is not included, the form will not be signed by the Assistant Dean.

Step 3: Attend class regularly and submit required assignments

  1. Since you are adding into the course late, it is up to you to get caught up with the workload. It is your responsibility to follow the success plan you drafted with your professor.
