Current Military Studies Minor
The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program prepares students to serve as officers in the United States Military. Upon graduation with a bachelor’s degree, student cadets receive their commission appointment. Today's military officers need the valuable knowledge, skill and experience provided through their ROTC training and academic achievement in a field of study. In combination with a student’s academic major and ROTC coursework the Minor in Military Science directs additional academic coursework in one of three directions. The purpose is to prepare students to be better officers upon graduation and commissioning into the United States Military. The additional knowledge and skills from this minor enhance the expertise students are developing and supports their ability to transition efficiently into officer roles. This minor is available to any student planning to serve in an officer position or interested in another professional role within the Department of Defense.
