NACOE Student Ambassador Program
Training & Commitment, Calendar, Training Resources, and Benefits
Training & Time Commitment
In addition to sharing your student experience, as an ambassador you can expect to participate in bi-montly training meetings which develop a well rounded understanding of the Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering and build leadership skills.
Training meetings are on Wednesdays from 5 pm - 6 pm, start with DINNER and are followed by an activity to expand knowledge of the college or build leadership skills. These experiences include guest speakers, department and research lab tours, leadership development training, and other experiences informed by group input.
Time commitment per student ambassador averages 5 -10 hours per month. This leadership program is set up as a a volunteer experience and demonstrates a student's decision to engage with their academic community.
Students are always considered students first and are encouraged to communicate with program advisors when academic commitments conflict with Ambassador responsibilities. Accommodations can be made to support engagement as an Ambassador AND success with academic responsibilities.
